CHARLES ORIEN GERHOLD
---Charles Orien Gerhold, 85, of Millard, Missouri passed away Friday morning (July 18, 1997) at his home under the care of Hospice 2000.
---The son of Charles and Ora Bragg Gerhold he was born August 30, 1911 near Millard, Missouri. On January 4, 1941 in Kirksville, Missouri he was united in marriage to Leona "Peggy" Kirkpatrick who survives. Also surviving are one foster daughter, Patsy Eitel and husband, David of LaPlata, Missouri; two sisters, Margaret Strickler of Ft. Myers, Florida and Thelma Stonger of Rockford, Illinois; three grandchildren, Carla Worley and husband Phillip of Crockett, California, Paige Carrol and husband David of LaPlata, Missouri and Monty Eitel and wife Ethel of Story City, Iowa and several nieces and nephews.
---He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Glen Gerhold and two sisters, Jerry Allen and one in infancy.
---Charles was a life-long resident of Adair County and was a life-long farmer in the Millard Community.
---Charles was a member of the LaPlata American Legion and was a past member of the LaPlata Lions Club and the Kirksville Moose Lodge.
---Funeral services will be held at two-thirty Sunday (July 20, 1997) at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri. The Reverend James Morgan will officiate the service. Burial with military rites will be held at the Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.
---Visitation is in progress at the Travis-Noe Funeral Home in Kirksville and the family will receive friends from seven to nine o'clock this evening Saturday (July 19, 1997 in the chapel of Travis-Noe Funeral Home, Kirksville, Missouri.
---An expression of sympathy in memory of Charles Gerhold may be made to the LaPlata American Legion. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Travis-Now Funeral Home, Kirksville, Mo. 63501.
