Dawn S. Goring, 84 of Kirksville passed away Saturday (April 6, 2013) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville.
The daughter of Larry Thomas and Ruth Vivian (Sconyers) Courtney, she was born December 20, 1928 in Fort Worth, TX. On December 15, 1963 in Fort Worth, TX she was united in marriage to Carl Goring and he preceded her in death of September 25, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one son, Harry Goring.
Dawn is survived by two grandsons, David Goring and Brian Goring; a sister, Grace Johnson of Fort Worth, TX; sister-in-law, June Goring of Kirksville; nephew, Bill Goring and wife Marla of Kirksville along with several other nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Terri Corrick and family.
Dawn was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and ceramics. She had a strong faith and was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 9, 2013) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with a graveside service and interment to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Highland Park Cemetery with Virgil Jones officiating.
