Dale D. Morehouse

Funeral services for Dale D. Morehouse, 49, of Norwalk, Calif., formerly of Greentop, will be held Monday morning (Aug. 28, 1978) at 10:30 in the chapel of the Foster Memorial Home. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery, with military rites at the graveside.

Mr. Morehouse died Wednesday in the Veterans Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. He had been in failing health the past five years.

The son of Emmett and Gayle (Mears) Morehouse, he was born May 4, 1929 in Adair county. On Dec. 24, 1960 in Kirksville, he married Shirley Wheeler who survives. Also surviving are his mother of 407 W. Illinois; five children, Roger Dale Morehouse of the home, Randy Thomas who is serving with the United States Navy, Rodney Thomas who is serving with the United States Air Force and Jackie K. Kennedy and Debbie Henderson, both of Long Beach, Calif; one brother, Wayne Morehouse of Greentop and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Mr. Morehouse was reared in Greentop, where he attended school. For several years he worked with construction until 1961, when he moved to the state of California.

During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Morehouse served with the United States Armed Forces from Feb. 7, 1951 until July 13, 1956. During his military career he served overseas and was also stationed at Camp Chaffie, Ark.

Bearers will be: Bud Keim, Junior Hewitt, Bill March, Joe March, Alvie Erwin and Keith Story.
