In Memoriam:

J.M. Sells, was born near Carlinville, Illinois, July 17th 1855; was married to Miss Cynthia Kessinger in 1871; to this union three children were born, Mrs. Sadie Elizabeth Waddill of Kirksville, Mrs. Bessie Currence, of Denver, Colo., and John M. Sells, of Ewing Mo. He was converted and united with the Charity Baptist church near Carlinville, Illinois, in 1875. Moved to Missouri in 1890 and with his family united with East Center Methodist church, but later transferred his membership to the LaPlata Methodist church. He died in the faith May 26th after only a few hours illness at his home at Bullion, Adair county, Missouri, where he had gone into business last summer. He leaves besides his wife and children the following sisters; Mrs. Caroline Comer and Mrs. Sarah Loveless, of Carlinville, Illinois; Mrs. Thursia Brown of Virden, Illinois, and a brother, W.H. Sells, of Girard, Illinois, and a host of friends to mourn their loss. A good man has gone to his long rest. His funeral was conducted by his former pastor, the Rev. G.W. Nollner, assisted by Rev. W.D. King, in the Mulanix Methodist church, Kirksville, and the remains were laid to rest in the Highland Park cemetery on Monday 3 p.m. May 29th.
