Son of John Starks and Carlettie Culver
Samuel E Starks, sixty-seven, father of Mrs. Glen Gudehus of Hurdland, died suddenly Saturday after a heart attack in a Kirksville garage.
Mr. Starks was the son of John and Carlettie (Culver) Starks and was born Mar 24, 1890 in Morgan Co IL.
He was married to Zelma Irene Fortney at Kirksville on Oct 15, 1910.
Besides Mrs. Gudehus, he is survived by 2 sons, Leroy Earl of Long Beach CA, and James of Charlotte, S.C.; two brothers, Gail Starks of Kirksville, and Chester Starks of Burlington, IA.
Funeral services were at a Kirksville funeral home, Monday at 2 p.m., with services conducted by Rev Claude Miller, pastor of the LaPlata Presbyterian Church. Burial was in the Highland Park Cemetery.
