Obituaries:

Andrew Stajcar, aged 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Stajcar, of Kirksville, died in Mary's Help Hospital in San Francisco, following an operation. Mr. Stajcar was born in Crested Butte, Gunnison County, Colo., Nov. 11, 1911. The family moved to Kirksville in 1919, and he attended the public schools here, later being employed by the International Shoe company until his departure for California. Besides his parents, the young man is survived by three brothers, George Jr., of Chicago, Frank, of Newton, Ia., and John, at home. Four sisters also survive him. They are: Mrs. Joseph Zahn, Chicago, and the Misses Donna; Anna and Rose, of Kirksville. The body is being brought to Kirksville and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Mary Immaculate. Burial will be made in Highland Park cemetery.

Donna Stitzer, 90, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away Saturday (November 28, 1998) at Twin-Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

She was born June 1, 1908 in Crested Butte, Colorado the daughter of George and Antonia (Crnkovich) Stajcar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Andrew, John, Frank, and George Stitzer, three sisters; Mary Kobe, Anna Quinn, and Rose Wallace.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including; Andrew Stitzer and wife Sarah, Mike Stitzer and wife Janice, Richard Stitzer, of Kirksville, Missouri, and Barbara Duffy of Queen City, Missouri.

Donna moved with her parents to Kirksville in 1919 and received her education in the Kirksville school system. In 1924 she began working at the International Shoe Company and retired in 1970, after 46 years.

She was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church. She enjoyed walking.

A graveside service was held Monday (November 30, 1998) at 10:00 a.m. at the Mary Immaculate Catholic Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri. Reverend Virgil K. Jones officiated the service.

Funeral services were under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home.
