Gene Templeman, 57, of Route 4, Kirksville died unexpectedly following an apparent heart attack Sunday morning at 10:45.
The son of Orville and Zada (Heaton) Templeman, he was born at Lancaster on March 23, 1910. On Aug. 12, 1937, at Moberly, he married Virginia Clark and to this marriage two daughters were born.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Alona Jean Templeman of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Wayne (Jane) Marshall of Route 4, Kirksville; his mother, Zada Blodgett of 1104 N. Centennial; one brother, Basil Templeman of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Virginia) Solfisburg of Aurora, Ill., and Mrs. L.E. (Mable) Kelso of Downing; two half-brothers, Oren Blodgett and William Blodgett, both of Route 4, Kirksville and three half-sisters, Mrs. Al (Georgia) Salisbury of Aurora, Ill., Mary Louise Western of 1104 N. Centennial and Juanita Bowles of 408 W. Mill.
He was preceded in death by his father in August 1912 and his stepfather, Homer Blodgett, in July 1943.
Mr. Templeman moved from Schuyler County to Kirksville where he was employed for J.S. McKeehan for a number of years. In 1941 he opened the Templeman Sales, the business was operating at the time of his death.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Air Force in the Alaskan Wing for three years.
He was a member of the Church of God.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Foster Memorial Home with Gerald Croswell of Independence officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
Bearers will be Paul Beeler, Arlo Smith, Joe Aeschliman, L.P. ("Pete") Anesi, Harvey B. Young, Jr. and Glen Novinger, Jr.
The casket will be closed at the funearl hour and not reopened.
