Joe Wess, Former Resident, Dies
Joe Wess, 69, a former resident of Kirksville, died Tuesday evening in a hospital at Des Moines, Iowa.
Mr. Wess was the son of Joe and Ellen Wess and was born in Kirksville Jan. 8, 1886. He was married here to Nellie Jackson.
He is survived by his wife; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Wineva Haas, of Los Angeles, Calif., two brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Wess left Kirksville about 19 years ago, to make his home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The body is being returned to the Dee Riley Funeral Home, and funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Joseph Wess Funeral Will Be Tomorrow
Funeral services for Joseph Wess, of Cedar Rapids, Ia., will be held at the Dee Riley Funeral Home Saturday afternoon at 1:00, conducted by Rev. R.E. Miller of Macon.
Interment will be in the Highland Park cemetery.
Bearers will be: Jim Coby, Clyde Johnson, Bud Tolson, Clarence Hatcher, William Lampkin and Pearl Toles.
