J. H. YADON DIES; ADAIR COUNTY NATIVE
Funeral for 86 Year Old Man at 2 p.m. Wednesday
John H. Yadon, 86, of 1212 S. Porter, dies Sunday afternoon at four o'clock in his home. He had been in failing health for six years and seriously ill the past 11 months.
The son of Hiram P. and Susan B. (Pierce) Yadon, he was born Dec. 2, 1878 in Adair county. He married Nada Barnhill and to this marriage one daughter was born.
Surviving are his wife; his daughter, Sylvia Holloway of 616 W. Stacy; eight grandchildren; one foster son; one adopted son; two brothers, Clarence Yadon of Kirksville and Henry Yadon of Garnett, Kan. and two aunts, Clara Yadon of Kirksville and Mrs. Sant (Zula) Willis, also of Kirksville.
He was preceded in death by a son by a previous marriage, five sisters and three brothers.
Mr. Yadon had been engaged in the trucking business in Kirksville for many years. In 1952 he retired due to ill health.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock in the Foster Memorial Home with the Elder Clyde O. Johnson of Green Castle, officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Park cemetery.
The casket will be closed at the funeral hour and not reopened.
Bearers will be: Dean Curtis, [illegible], Arthur Steel, William Haynie, Harvey Sevits and Glen Western.
