Daughter of James Monroe Spencer 1819–1884 and Ruth Craig Spencer 1820–1892
SPENCER--at the home of Wm Steele, near Brashear, Mo., Oct. 3d, 1889, Ruth Ann Spencer, aged 38 years, 5 months and 10 days. She joined the United Brethren church in 1875, of which she remained a faithful member until her death. The sad news of her death shocked the entire community. The large procession of relatives and friends which followed the remains to the grave was an indication of the esteem in which she was held. She died a Christian. May the comforts of religion be the solace of the bereaved friends.
