DELMAS BRAGG, OF YOUNGSTOWN VICINITY, DIES
Funeral Here Friday and Burial at Pinkerton Cemetery.
---Delmas J. Bragg, 29 years old, lifelong resident of the Youngstown vicinity, died in a hospital here yesterday afternoon from a lung abscess and septicemia which developed from a peritonsillar abscess and quinsy.
---The funeral is to be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Summers & Flinchpaugh Funeral Home here and burial will be made in the Pinkerton Cemetery near Youngstown.
---Mr. Bragg was born on a farm near Youngstown Dec. 23, 1909. On Sept. 5, 1931 he was married to Velma Begole, of Gifford, Mo., and one daughter, Elaine, was born.
---He was preceded in death by his mother a year and one month ago and a brother who died in infancy.
---Surviving are his wife and daughter, his father, A. C. Bragg; two sisters, Mrs. Rastus Smith, of Millard, Mo., and Miss Trevia Bragg at home; grandparents, Mrs. Catherine Bragg and Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kephart

VELMA BRAGG
---Velma Bragg, age 92, of Kirksville, Missouri passed away on Saturday (November 23, 2002) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
---The daughter of Charles M. Begole and Inez (Clemison) Begole, she was born January 10, 1910 near Ethel, Missouri.
---Mrs. Bragg graduated from the Kirksville Senior High School with the Class of 1927. She continued her education at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University), receiving a B.S. Degree in elementary education and an M.A. degree in school administration. She completed forty-two years of teaching. She taught at the Salsbury School, 1927-1929 and 1937-1940, Millard School 1929-1932, Ringo Point School 1940-1941 and first grade at Willard Elementary School in Kirksville. 1941-1975.
---On September 5, 1931, Velma married Delmas Bragg who preceded her in death in 1939. Also preceding her in death were her parents and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Elaine Novinger and husband Glen of Kirksville, Missouri, one granddaughter, Linda Schrab and husband, John of San Clemente, California, one grandson, Joseph Novinger and wife, Sandra of Creve Coeur, Missouri, four great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Natalie and Annalise Novinger and Adam Schrab, one sister, Marybelle Selters of Kirksville, Missouri, two sisters-in-law, Zella (Mrs. Bert Begole) and Susie (Mrs. Dean Begole) both of LaPlata, Missouri numerous nieces and nephews.
---Mrs. Bragg was a member of the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O. Chapter CZ, Delta Kappa Gamma International, Missouri State Teachers Association, National Education Association and Kirksville Area Retired Teachers.
---A funeral service will be held at 2:00 o'clock on Tuesday (November 26, 2002) at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jim Robinson officiating. Music will be provided by Mary Weerts, soloist, and Dee Roberts and Dianthe Cable, organists. Musical selection will be "How Great Thou Art" and "Saved By Grace With Amazing Grace." Interment will be in the Pinkerton Cemetery west of Kirksville, Missouri.
---Pallbearers will be Dick Rhea, Bill Baiotto, Robert May, Everett Lee Farr, John Williams and William Matthew.
---Visitation will be held Tuesday (November 26, 2002) from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Kirksville, Missouri. Family will receive friends at that time.
---Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
