Graveside services for Earl Edmond Callahan, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 1, 2019 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Callahan passed away at 5:48 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Brooke Haven Healthcare.
He was born July 21, 1928, at Amy, Missouri, to John Edmond “Edd” Callahan and Alpha Easley Callahan. Earl served in the military until he was medically discharged. He was a heavy machinery operator, a well driller and drove an eighteen-wheeler for many years. He thoroughly enjoyed running his dogs and hunting with his friends. Earl was very proud of all of his family. Mr. Callahan was a Christian.
He is survived by one daughter, Debra Earlene Simmons and husband, Robert, Raymore, Missouri; four grandchildren, Stephanie Wurtz, Sandra Sanders, Michael Swisher and Bradley Simmons; five great-grandchildren, Rachel Sassaman, Alicia Wurtz, Jade, Savannah and Kaleb Sanders; two great-great-grandchildren, Aurora and Leo Sassaman; four sisters, Ella Drumright, Genieve Gentry, Dona Hall, all of West Plains and Lea Langston, Gassville, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents, five brothers, Omer, Jack, Hayden, Winfred and Donnie Callahan and one sister, Agnes Hunt, preceded him in death. [robertsondrago.com]
