ANDREW J. PHILLIPS DEAD Andrew J. Phillips aged 88 years, 4 months and 20 days, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. F. A. Kiper in Berryville, Saturday, April 6, after an illness of but a few days, paralysis'was said to be the cause of his death. Mr. Phillips was born in Haywood county, North Carolina, November 10, 1840, but when a small child moved with his father to Cook county, Tennessee, and lived in different points in that state until moving to Barry county, Missouri, when a young man. 17 years ago he moved to this county and has since lived with his daughter at whose home he passed away. He was married in 1858 to Miss Elizabeth Huff, who preceded him in death 17 years, and to this union were born ... children, three of whom survive and were with their father when death came. They are, Mrs. T. A. Stapp, Seneca, Missouri, John Phillips, Urbanette, and Mrs. F. A. Kiper of this city. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Phillips of Ringgold, Georgia, and Will Phillips who resides in Tennessee. Mr. Phillips served with the Union forces during the Civil War being a a member of Company K, First Regiment light artillery. He had been a devoted member of the Baptist church since a young man and was held in high esteem by his many friends. The remains were taken to Cornith church in Barry county, Missouri, where funeral services were held by Rev. W. A. Bailey, Sunday, and interment was in the Cornith cemetery.
