Week of March 18, 1886
Hon. R. C. Randall, of Preston township, Jasper county, MO., died at his residence at 2:20 p.m. March 15, 1886 of ulceration of the stomach.
Mr. Randall was born May 31, 1833 in Jefferson county, VA., and moved when but a lad with parents to Nelson county, KY. He lived upon a farm, receiving but a limited education in the country schools: but all through life he was a attentive reader and a life long student. In 1859 he married Miss Endemile Sheets, and estimable lady of Hardin county, KY.
They moved to Jasper county, MO., in 1877 and lived on their farm in Preston township during the remainder of his life. In 1884 he was brought out by his many friends and elected representative of the eastern district of Jasper county in the 33rd general assembly of the state of Missouri, which position he held at the time of his death. This was his first and only political experience, and his only digression from the life of a faithful intelligent farmer. He was a kind and affectionate husband, a good neighbor, passing away calmly and silently to his eternal rest.
Funeral services tomorrow from the residence to the Salem Church yard, southeast of Jasper.
