Funeral Service
The funeral of the late Wm. B. Berry was preached last sabbath, May 18, at the U.B. Church in Brashear. Though the rain fell thick and fast, a good congregation was present.
He was born in Monroe county, Ind., Dec. 15, A.D., 2821 [sic]. United in marriage to Sarah H. Burns Oct 9, 1825 [sic]. Converted and joined the M.E. Church in 1846. Was C.L[.] in that church about three years. Came west in 1847. During the last 15 years of his life he suffered severely with lung trouble of which he died February 27, 1884. His sufferings were long and severe, but were borne with much patience. He gave bright evidence on his dying bed of his preparation for a better place than this. He was poor in this world's goods but rich in faith and no doubt is an heir to a mansion above.
