Percy Allen Buys, 81, a retired farmer of Holcomb, died Saturday, March 14, 1981 at his home. He was a former Steele resident and a member of the First Baptist Church in Steele.
Mr. Buys leaves one son, Harry Buys, of Kennett; one daughter, Mrs. Hazel King of Holcomb; three brothers, Boyd T. Buys of Kennett, Tom Buys, of Steele, and Earl Buys of Ohio; one sister, Mrs. Bessie Brown of Steele; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Monday, March 16, 1981 at the First Baptist Church in Steele with the Rev. James McCrary and the Rev. Hershel Smith officiating. Burial was in Number Eight Cemetery near Cooter.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the family home near Denton for Mrs. Percy Buys, 37, who died Friday at the Walls Hospital in Blytheville, where she had been taken a few hours before her death. Mrs. Buys had been in ill health for some time, and the past two weeks was confined to her bed. Death was attributed to dropsy.
The Rev. J.H. Wagoner, pastor of the M.E. Church at Cooter, officiated. Burial was made in the No. 8 Cemetery. German Undertaking Co. had charge of funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Sarah Frona Tiner Buys, wife of Percy Buys, was born August 3, 1900 and died June 10, 1938 at the age of 37 years, 10 months and 7 days. The deceased was born at Springfield, Mo.
She leaves to mourn her death the husband, and five children, three daughters, Hazel, Darlie Sue and Kathryn, two sons, Eston and Harry Lee; one brother, Luther Tiner of Belchertown, Mass., and eight sisters: Mrs. Velma Morgan of Keiser, Ark., Mrs. Myrtle Cooper of Marmaduke, Ark., Mrs. Lena Montgomery of Forrest City, Ark., Mrs. Nettie Gower of Brookport, Ill., Mrs. Beulah Webster, Mrs. Bertha Cavanaugh, Mrs. Effie Cavanaugh and Mrs. Iva Toon, all of Detroit, Michigan, together with a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Buys professed her faith in Christ in 1921 and united with the Methodist Church. She was a devoted Christian, a good wife, and a loving mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
