Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 26, 1977 at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele for Mr. Lawrence C. Fowler, 71, a former resident of Cooter, Rev. Joe Smith conducted the 2:00 p.m. services.
Mr. Fowler was born December 15, 1905 at Kennett, Mo., and died January 24, 1977 at Veteran's Hospital in New Orleans, La. Mr. Fowler had been an employee of Haines City Citrus Growers, Haines City La., until his retirement.
He was a veteran of World War II and was the son of the late L.C. and Eva Leggett Fowler.
He leaves one daughter, Mrs. Mondra Reich, of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, L.C. Fowler Jr., and J.P Howell, of Viola, Ark.; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Hartman of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Milbry Perry of Mo-Ark State Line, and Mrs. Virginia Wisdom, of Steele, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Burial was in the No. 8 Cemetery near Cooter, with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele, Mo., in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Arnold Jones, Michael Hardin, W.R. McClure, Hubert Perry, Phil Henry, and Tommy Fraser.
