Gary J. Dotson, son of the late Tucker and Hazel (Skaggs) Dotson was born on October 5, 1938 in Cabool, MO. He passed away on April 1, 2020 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 27 days.
Gary grew up in Cabool and graduated from Cabool High School with the class of 1956. After high school he went to work for the MFA Grocery as a butcher. He then joined the US Navy in 1956 and was aboard the USS Independence where he saw many parts of the world; his favorite being the French Riviera.
Gary married Beverly Hamilton on February 20, 1960 and to this union two sons were born, Larry Jay and Damon Ray. Through the years he enjoyed antiquing, “junkin”, traveling and hunting when he was able and spending time with family he dearly loved.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin “Buck” and wife, Beth; sisters, Nadine Carelli and husband, Jim, Geraldine Hale and husband, Emery and Betty Sweet and husband, Warren. He is survived by his sons, Larry Dotson and wife, Janet and Damon Dotson and wife, Janetta; four grandchildren, Tucker, Brittany, Andrew and Caitlyn Dotson; five great grandchildren, Gabriel, Cecila and Travis Dotson and Tristan and Brock Hutson; his lifelong partner and love of his life, Betty Moore; as well as many special nieces, nephews and friends who admired him deeply. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.[egcfuneralhome.com]
