Jahu Johnson aged 85 years, an old resident living three miles north of Sparta, died about noon Tuesday, August 28, 1923. Funeral services conducted by Rev. A. S. Hanks were held Wednesday afternoon at the Linden cemetery. The deceased leaves the aged widow and four children, Mrs. J. W. Leonard, mother of postmaster D. C. Leonard, Judge W. M. Johnson of Sparta, J. T. Johnson of Joplin and Mrs. Emma Beamon of Los Angeles, Calif. All were present at the funeral but Mrs. Beamon.
