Irene Dowdy, daughter of the Late Daniel Flemon Eskew and Lilly Mae Bronson Eskew, was born October 30, 1922 in Holcomb, Missouri, and died March 24, 2021 in West Plains, Missouri.
She was married June 23, 1942 at Piggott, Arkansas to Jewell Dowdy, who preceded her in death November 9, 2007
She is survived by two daughters, Jo Ann Papp, West Plains, Missouri and Peggy Czilli, Northport, Florida; three grandchildren, Derek Papp and wife Lucy, Fort Myers, Florida; Audra Biegas, Livonia, Michigan, and Chad Czilli, Northport, Florida; three great grandchildren, Tessa Papp, Gainesville, Florida; Kyle Biegas, Livonia, Michigan, and Gage Papp, Fort Myers, Florida.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jerry Dowdy; six brothers, Fay Eskew, Winfred Eskew, L.D. Eskew, Junior Eskew, Millard Eskew, and Bill Eskew; one sister, Ruby Spears, and one infant sister.
Funeral services for will be Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in West Plains, Missouri, with Reverend Ben Ryan officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Carter Funeral Home, West Plains, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, Howell County, Missouri, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
