ANDREW VINCENT GOODWIN

Funeral services for Andrew Vincent Goodwin, 91, of Edina, were held at one o'clock Monday afternoon (January 2, 1989) in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel, Edina. The Rev. David Howald of Edina conducted the services. Burial was in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery northeast of Edina. Mr. Goodwin died at 7:55 Friday morning (December 30, 1988) in Crosspointe Residential Care Facility in Edina.

The son of George and Mary Walter Goodwin, he was born Nov 19, 1897 near Knox City. On Jun 5, 1935, he married Ruby Maxine Oesterle who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Georgia M.) Payne of Woodstock, Illinois, one sister, Mary Lee Orr of Decatur, Illinois, one granddaughter, Susan Mitchem and one great-granddaughter Diane Mitchem.

Mr Goodwin spent most of his life in Knox County. He was engaged in farming near Knox City and later in Lewis County, In 1950 he moved to Edina where he was employed by the Missouri State Highway Department until his retirement in the 1960's. He was a member of Knox City Christian Church.

RUBY M. GOODWIN

Ruby Maxine Goodwin, age 80, of Edina, Missouri passed away early Thursday afternoon (July 11, 1991) in the Grim-Smith Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri. Born on February 1, 1911 in Burlington, Iowa she was the daughter of George and Mary Schultz Oesterle. On June 5, 1935, in Canton, Missouri she married Andrew Vincent Goodwin and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1988.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Georgia M. and Ralph Payne of Woodstock, Illinois; one granddaughter, Susan Ann Mitchem of Peoria, Illinois; one great-granddaughter Lindsay Diane Mitchem of Peoria, Illinois; three sisters, Helen Jondle of Iowa City, Iowa, Frieda Mayer of Hurdland, Missouri and Gertrude Willey of Quincy Illinois; two brothers Max Oesterle of Lewistown, Missouri, and George Oesterle of LaBelle, Missouri and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Ruth Baskett.

Mrs. Goodwin was a life long resident of Lewis and Knox Counties. She received her education in rural schools near LaBelle Missouri. Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin were engaged in farming near Knox City and later in Lewis County. In 1950 they moved to Edina. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of the First Baptist Church of Edina.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon (July 14, 1991) at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Chapel in Edina, Missouri. The Rev. David Howald of Edina, Missouri will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery northeast of Edina, Missouri.
