Mr. Zera Elden "Zeke" Gibbs, 51, of Jane, Mo., departed this life suddenly on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, in Washington County, Ark., after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Zeke entered this life on March 13, 1963, in Rogers, Ark., one of four children born to Bob and Anna Gibbs. He moved with his family to Jane, Mo., in 1974 and was a 1981 graduate of McDonald County High School. On Sept. 1, 1989, he was united in marriage to Rebecca "Becky" Holloway. Throughout his life he worked as a self-employed commercial roofer and farmer. He enjoyed being outdoors and love life on the family farm. Zeke was a man of strong work ethic and a follower of Jesus Christ.
Zeke is survived by his wife of 25, years, Beky Gibbs of the home; two sons, Bryan Gibbs, of Elm Mott, Texas, and Zera Casey Gibbs, of Bella Vista, Ark.; his parents, Bob and Anna Gibbs of Jane, Mo.; two brothers, Jon Gibbs and jeff Gibbs and wife, Tammy, all of Jane; a sister, Joanna Gibbs, of Webb City, Mo.; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Gibbs were held, Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral homes with Pastor Jamey Cope officiating. Burial followed in the Brush Creek Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers were David Holloway, Brice Holloway, Jeff Gibbs, Drew Gibbs, Mary Clark and Randy Spears. Danny Durham, Jon Gibbs, Tyler Gibbs and Calvin Farley served as honorary pallbearers. The family received friends on Sunday afternoon in the funeral home chapel.
Memorials are being directed to the Brush Creek Cemetery Care Fund and contributions may be left at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.ozarkfuneralhome.com. Arrangements were under the personal care and direction of the Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Mo.
