Glen McClain, 72, passed away on April 22, 2021, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. He was born on October 24, 1948, in Cabool, MO to parents Glen and Jessie (Smallwood) McClain.
Glen graduate from Willow Springs High School in 1967. On June 10, 1967, he married Katie (Turnbull). The couple enjoyed 53 years of marriage raising their boys and working side-by-side.
Glen was a second-generation logger who first worked with his dad using mules and horses. He was proud to upgrade to tractors and then to skidders that "wouldn't run off, bite him, or kick him!" He loved to tell stories, look for equipment, and trade.
Glen and Katie were proud to be foster parents until his wife suffered a stroke in 2012. Glen then became her full-time caregiver. Family was important to Glen as well as his wife. He was a large force in his family's life and will be missed.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, son Nova McClain and infant daughter Cindy McClain.
Glen is survived by his wife Katie McClain, Niangua, MO; son Charles McClain and wife Marcy, and Jamie McClain and wife Robin all of Niangua, MO. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Howard Johnson, James Johnson, Donald McClain, and sisters Virginia McClain and Helen Shores.
Graveside service will be on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 2:00 at Willow Springs Cemetery, Willow Springs, MO.
