John David Skelton, 78, of Cassville, died April 13 at his home following a long illness.

Mr. Skelton was born June 4, 1928, in Mineral Springs, the son of Joseph and Anna Cooper Skelton. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He moved to Cassville in 1969. He was a self-employed truck driver and carpenter and a member of Mineral Springs Church.

Survivors include two sons, David Skelton of Neffs, Ohio, and Donald Skelton of Sardis, Ohio; two daughters, Patty Kocher of Jacobsburg, Ohio, and Calista Robinson of Cassville; two step-sons, Doug Hinds of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Glenn Hinds of Butterfield; one step-daughter, Sissy Schroeder of Webb City; one sister, Thelma Sisney of Leedy, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and several step-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Orville, Cecil, George, and Donald Glenn; and one grandchild.

Services will be 2 p.m. tomorrow, April 17, at White Funeral Home in Cassville with Rev. Milford Baker officiating. Burial will be in Mineral Springs Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 16, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the cemetery.
