James Lloyd Burrows was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Roseburg, Ore. He passed away March 29, 2016, at home in Yukon, Okla., after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

Jim is the son-in-law of Vernon and Betty Dewitt of Washburn, Mo.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Verna Sue, a son, Cory James and wife Jennifer and their children Heidi and Robert of Oklahoma City and a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth and husband Bill Cantwell, Jr. and their children, all of Yukon, Hayden James Burrows, Ryan, Zachery, Hope and a granddaughter Destiny to arrive in May. Jim is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth Duke of Alto, N.M., his mother-in-law Betty Dewitt of Washburn, and sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Charlie Elkins of Yukon, OK and Patricia and Dour Roper of Springfield, Mo.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Marcy and Lois Burrows of Hobbs, N.M., a brother, Minta Burrows of Pavillion, Wyo., and a sister Marna Hann of Hobbs, N.M. and his father-in-law Vernon Dewitt.

A service celebrating Jim's life was held in Yukon on Friday morning. His family will be receiving friends at Fohn Funeral Home Friday evening, from 6:00 to 8:00, with a graveside service to be held Saturday April 2, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Roller Cemetery, Washburn, Mo.
