F.E. "Buster" Strong, 88, of Lebanon, died Friday, July 6, 2007, at his home in Lebanon.

He was born Jan. 7, 1919, in Westminster, Mass., to Ealon H. Strong and Olive H. Higgins Strong, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by a son, Allen Strong; his wife, Alma Strong; a brother, Robert Strong, and a special friend, Annie Stewart.

He was a truck driver.

Survivors include four sons, J.R. Strong, of Lebanon; Gary Strong, of the state of Alabama; Doug Behnke, of Lebanon, and Dana Behnke, of the state of California; six daughters, Mary Davis, of Lebanon; Bobbie Pickard and her husband, Mac, of Los Banos, Calif.; Lillian Floyd and husband, Larry, of Garland, Texas; Kari Stanislaw, of San Jose, Calif.; Susan Alford, of Tampa, Fla. and Tina Armstrong, of the state of Mississippi; a brother, Stuart and three sisters, Elsie, Dorothy and Mable; 25 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Buster Strong will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Shadel's Colonial Chapel with Tim Shockley officiating.

Burial will be in the Liberty Methodist Cemetery in Monett, Mo., under the direction of Shadel's Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from noon until service time at 1 p.m. in the chapel.

A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the chapel.
