GALENA- (Special)- Funeral arrangement are pending for 34 year-old Galena resident who was found dead Monday after apparently accidentally shooting himself in the chest.
Billy Randall Russell, Sr., 34, was found by his wife, Edna, when she returned home from work about noon. Russell had been in the bedroom, apparently cleaning a .357 caliber pistol authorities said. They said a gun cleaning kit was found beside the bed.
Acting Stone County Coroner, Jack Fugitt, , a deputy sheriff, said Mrs. Russell rushed to the Sheriff's office after discovering the body, because there was no telephone in the house. An ambulance was summoned, but the victim apparently had been dead for a short time before being discovered.
In addition to his wife, survivors include, a son, Billy Randall, Jr., and a daughter, Lille Belle, both of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Charley Russell.
