Daughter of John Thomas Kirkman and Wilma L. Wright
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church last Thursday afternoon, March 11, at two o'clock for Miss Nella Sally Kirkman, who died after a long illness of tuberculosis at the home of her mother, Mrs. J.R. Kirkman, on West Tenth Street. The services were conducted by the Rev. Floyd Brower and interment was in Liberty cemetery, south of Kennett, with LaForge service.
Miss Kirkman was born July 28, 1907, at Henderson, Tenn., the daughter of John T. and Wilma W. Kirkman, and was 40 years, 7 months and 12 days of age. The family had lived near Kennett for many years before moving to this city some four years or so ago. She had been a patient at the State Sanitorium at Mount Vernon for some time, returning to her mother's home three years ago.
She is survived by her mother; three sisters, Mrs. Pauline Smitherman of Senath, Mo.; Mrs. Mary Nell Gill of Hayti; and Mrs. Hattie Crockett of this city; and three brothers, Wilson Kirkman of St. Louis; Edward Kirkman of Hayti; and J.R. Kirkman of Caruthersville.
