Billy Mac Morton, 82, of Steele, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at his home.
Born Dec. 4, 1927 in Steele, he is the son of the late Fred Morton and Ernie Barnard Morton. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Freddie, J.C., Sonny, and Joe Arthur and one sister, Carolyn Swafford.
He was a lifelong resident and a farmer for many years.
Mr. Morton leaves his wife, Imogene Morton, of the home; Three daughters: Cindy Morton of Memphis, Tenn., Sissy Morton of Hickman, Ark., and Renee Allison of Steele; One grandson, Jesse Morton, of Huffman; Two granddaughters: Karry Teeter and Holly Allison, both of Steele; Five great-grandchildren: Alec, Jacob and Carmen Glidewell and Blake and Alli Jones; and Two sisters: Jeri Dell Waller of West Memphis, Ark., and Lucille King of Rockford, Ill.
Funeral services for Mr. Morton were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Rev. Charles Clark officiating.
Burial was at the Barnard Cemetery in Steele.
