Mrs. Minnie Sweatt, 50, died at the hospital at Mount Vernon, Mo., August 16, 1944. Mrs. Sweatt was a member of the Methodist Church and had lived in this community for several years. She entered the hospital June 4, after a long period of illness suffering from tuberculosis.
Funeral services were held at the Steele Methodist Church Saturday with the Rev. Marvin Niblack officiating.
Mrs. Sweatt is survived by her husband, Marion Sweatt, one son, James Richard Sweatt, somewhere in Italy, one daughter, Marlean Sweat of Memphis. Also her father, J. H. Richard of Selmer, Tenn.; and five sisters, Mrs. J.L. Reader of Selmer, Mrs. Claude Broadway of Selmer, Mrs. Montie Hurst of Selmer, Mrs. J.T. Vaughan of Richmond, Calif., and Mrs. Carl Wilson of Detroit, Mich.
Interment was in the Mount Zion Cemetery with the German Undertaking Co. in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were H. Ballentine, Paul Frame, Homer Alexander, Roy Marshall, Arch Jordan and Elmer Bullock.
