Sophia Altis, daughter of Adolph and Magdalena Kraus, was born in Munich, Germany, on June 4, 1931. She died on December 18, 1963 at the age of 32 years six months and 14 days. At the time of her passing she was a patient in the Lackland Air Force Base Hospital in Texas.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Church of the Brethren with Rev. John Wieand officiating. Burial was in Cabool Cemetery under the direction of Elliott Gentry.
