Elsie was the daughter of Thomas Wonch. She married Albert Tipton on December 30, 1929. They had no children. They owned and operated a small motor home park at Kirksville, Missouri.

Elsie Elizabeth Tipton
Elsie Elizabeth Tipton, 84, of Kirksville, passed away Sunday morning (June 19, 1988) in Twin Pines Adult Care Center, Kirksville.
Born January 24, 1904 in Linn county, she was the daughter of Thomas and Adaline Prough Wonch. She was married to Lee Harden who preceded her in death. On December 30, 1929 she was married to Albert Tipton who preceded her in death on February 6, 1979.
Surviving are three sisters, Ruby Davis of Doyle[,] California, Sylvia Will of Hurst, Illinois and Mrs. Al (Lavern) Scott of Caldwell, Idaho and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Tipton spent her earlier years in Macon county. She and her first husband, Lee Harden, resided in Macon and Adair counties. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Tipton were engaged in farming in Sullivan county for several years before moving to Kirksville in 1942. Mrs. Tipton was employed with International Shoe Company for a few years.
Graveside services will be held at ten o'clock Wednesday morning (June 22, 1988) in Maple Hills cemetery. The Rev. Archie Cooper will conduct the services which will be under the direction of Fohn Funeral Home.
