A long-time Gibbs resident, Annie Elizabeth (Bettie)Elmore,88,of Gibbs died in Kingfisher, Okla. Sunday Afternoon at five o'clock. She had been ill for several months.
The daughter of Uz and Polly Ann (Waddle) Winn, she was born May 23, 1874 in Illinois. She was married to John A Elmore who preceded her in death in 1956. Also preceding her in death were 11 brothers and sisters, including S.W. Winn and N.E. Winn.
Surviving are one sister, Minnie Belle Gooden of Kingfisher, Okla. and several nieces and nephews including Hon Henry Winn of Kirksville.
Mrs Elmore was a member of the Christian Church of Gibbs where she taught a Sunday school for more than 65 years.
The body will arrive at the Funeral Home of Davis & Davis early Tuesday morning where it will remain until 12:30 Tuesday afternoon. Funeral services will be held in the Gibbs Christian church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Hollis Bowen of Queen City officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hills cemetery.
Bearers will be: Charles Gregg,James Garlock, Charles Taylor, Aubrey Elmore, Victor Thompson and Frank Smith.
