Funeral services for Helen Amelia Mitts Weeks, 91, West Plains, will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2008, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weeks died 8:10 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, in Ozarks Medical Center. She was born Dec. 17, 1918, in Twin Bridges, Mo., to John Wilson and Sarah Rosa Fish Mitts. On Dec. 23, 1943, she was married at West Plains, Mo., to Roy Benjamin Weeks, who preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1974. They had one son, Roy Dale Weeks, who was born on Oct. 29, 1944, and preceded his mother in death on May 2, 2008. For a number of years, Mrs. Weeks had worked at West Vue Nursing Home. She attended Union Grove Church and was baptized on Sept. 10, 2000.
She is survived by one sister, Vivian Lovan, Pottersville, Mo.; several nieces and nephews, including Lena Doris Maupin, husband, Bob, Ina Faye Bennett, husband, Lynn, Rosa Thomas, Fern Welker, husband, Max, Wilma Puckett, husband, Howard, Janet Parker, husband, Darrell, Wayne Lovan, wife, Barbara, Dallas Lovan, wife, Janet, Rickey Lovan, wife, Reda, Jim Mitts, wife, Nita, Jerry Marsh, wife, Mary Beth and Donald Marsh, wife, Joan; and lots of friends.
Her parents; husband; son; four brothers, Wilburn Mitts, Ray Mitts, Leo Mitts and Lester Mitts; and two sisters, Gladys Hicks and Eunice Hopkins; precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contriubitons may be made to the Gideon Bible Society and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
