Funeral service was held at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele Saturday for Mrs. Ester Northern Callens, 72. Mr. Fenter D. Northern conducted the service.
Mrs. Callens was born August 6, 1906, at Holland, Mo., and died December 20, 1978, at a Greenwood, Miss. hospital.
She was the wife of the late Dee A. Callens who preceded her in death on May 17, 1976.
Mrs. Callens was a retired school teacher.
She leaves two sons, Jimmy Callens of Steele and Robert Callens of Greenwood, Miss.; one daughter, Mrs. Helen Chism of Sharon, Wisc.; three sisters, Mrs. Johnnie McCormack of Paducah, Ky.; Mrs. Bernice Owens of St. Louis, Mo.; and Mrs. Kathleen Wilson of Shell Knob, Mo. She also leaves a brother, Fenter D. Northern of Greenwood, Miss. and 15 grandchildren.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
