Johnnie Cleveland King, 68, died at the Walls Hospital in Blytheville last Wednesday, after a lingering illness.
Mr. King had lived here all of his life and had been employed by the City Street Department for many years.
Funeral services were held at the Assembly of God Church in Steele Friday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. The pastor, Rev. Jay Stetler, officiated, assisted by the Rev. W.C. VanBibber of Blytheville. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery with the German Funeral Home of Steele in charge. Pallbearers were members of the Steele Fire Department.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Josie king, one son, Jesse King; and a daughter, Mrs. Archie Bailey, both of Steele; two other daughters, Mrs. Isiabell Dyar of Cincinnati and Mrs. Lavada Cook of St. Louis; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
