Carmac S. Williamson, 84 of Willow Springs, MO departed this life on October 17, 2012 at his home. He was born May 15, 1928 at Burnham, Missouri to Floyd and Lizzie (Kentch) Williamson. He was the youngest of 10 children. He was married on May 26, 1952 to Etta Frances Green. To this union one son, Scott, was born.
Carmac graduated from Willow Springs High School following which he entered the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Knox. He retired from the Missouri Department of Transportation in 1987 after over 35 years of service in the survey and plans department. At his retirement, he was the Chief Designer for District 9.
After retirement, Carmac devoted most of his time to the work of the church. In 1997 he oversaw the construction of the current sanctuary building at the First General Baptist Church in Willow Springs. Again, in 2003, he oversaw the construction of the second phase of that project. He served as the facilities and maintenance man at the church for the last 15 years. Carmac had also served as the Chairman of the Elder Board at FGBC. In years past, he served the church for many years as the Sunday School Superintendant and as a liaison for the Little Vine Association to the General Baptist Denomination.
Carmac was noted for his wisdom, knowledge of scripture, his leadership and his sense of humor. He loved to hunt and fish and to work on projects in his shop.
Carmac was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dwight, Earl and Art; two sisters, Edna Robertson and Hazel Vandeventer; one niece, Evelyn Due and one nephew, Tom Frommel. He is survived by his wife Etta of the home; their son, Scott and wife, Jackie of Willow Springs; one brother, Sid and wife, Delores of Willow Springs; one sister, Thelma Gilbert of Willow Springs; two granddaughters, Nici Wiese and husband, Coatney of Willow Springs and Chelsea Bittick and husband, Gary of Pomona, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Zoe, Joshua, Jacob and Cooper. He is further survived by several nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law Doris Williamson. [egcfuneralhome.com, Oct 2012]
