Rosalie Uhls, 79, of Steele, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, in Steele.
Born Feb. 19, 1933 in Rockbridge, Ill., she is the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel and Sarah Goforth Roberts.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters: Ethal Tapp and Dorothy Homan.
In her working years, she was employed by Famous-Barr Company. She was the mother of twelve children and a homemaker.
Ms. Uhls leaves twelve children: Roxana Henson, Glenda McNeece, Gary Downs, Robert Downs, Johnny Ray Christ, William Downs, Robin Redus, Tina Smith, Darren Downs, Juanita Brown, Shauna Perry and Tracy Lynn Davis; One brother, John Thomas Roberts; and Numerous adopted children and 24 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services for Ms. Uhls were held on Wednesday, July 11 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Pastor Gregory Kirk officiating.
Pallbearers were David Perry, Kevin Downs, Kie Dills, Wesley Henson, Chris Davis and Eric Brown.
The John W. German Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of services.
