Walter Jackson Neil, 87, died November 18, 1971 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Mr. Neil was born in Dyer County, Tenn. on January 16, 1884. He lived near Cooter and was a retired farmer.
His wife, Azzlee, preceded him in death on May 17, 1969.
Funeral services were held November 20, 1971 at 2;00 p.m. at the Holly Grove Baptist Church at Cooter with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating.
He leaves five daughters: Mrs. Sue Rollins, Knoxville, Tenn.; Mrs. Lula Mae Davis, Cooter; Mrs. Anna Davis, Steele; Mrs. Vernell Ingram, Shreveport, La.; and Wilma Alford, Sikeston; one son: J.W. Neil, Cooter; two sisters: Mrs. Stella Hall Quilin; and Mrs. Eva Robinson, Clinton, Miss.; twenty-one grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons of Mr. Neil.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with the Original German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Azzlee Wagster Neil was born September 14, 1886, in Dyer County, Tenn., and died May 17, 1969, in the Doctors' Hospital in Blytheville, Ark., at the age of 82 years, 8 months and 3 days. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Wagster. She married Jack Neil in November 1902.
Mrs. Neil leaves her husband; five daughters - Mrs. Sue Rollins of Knoxville, Tenn., Mrs. Lula Mae Davis, Cooter, Mrs. Annie Davis, Steele, Mrs. Vernell Ingram of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Wilma Alford of Sikeston; one son, J.W. Neil of Cooter.
One son, Bernie Neil, preceded her in death in June, 1952.
She also leaves two sisters - Mrs. Grace Denton of Chaffee and Mrs. Madge Notgrass of Roellen, Tenn.; and one brother, Quince Wagster of Cooter; 21 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Services were held in the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter on Monday, May 19, at 2:00 and conducted by Rev. Joe Smith.
Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home, Inc., in charge of arrangements.
