Marilyn Winchester, 62, of Steele, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in Cape Girardeau Mo.

Born July 31, 1950 in Denton, she is the daughter of the late James Clarence Stewart and Mary Louise Sanders Stewart.

Marilyn was united in marriage to Mike Winchester on Sept. 28, 1991 in Blytheville, Ark.

She had worked for many years at Acco in Blytheville and later drove a school bus for South Pemiscot School District. She was a rural mail carrier for the United States Postal Service and was a member of the Steele Church of Christ.

Mrs. Winchester leaves her husband, Mike Winchester, of the home; two daughters: Karen Hampton of Alma, Ark., and Sherry Stegall of Jackson, Mo.; two brothers, Ferrell Joe Stewart, of Cooter and Jimmy Stewart of Denton; two sisters: Alice Watson of Blytheville, and Becky Shuburte of Nixon, Mo.; four grandchildren: Zachary Stegall, Madison Stegall, Racheal Clifton and Timothy Clifton; and
Dyanna Simpson and her daughter, Alysia, who she raised for a number of years.

Funeral services for Mrs. Winchester were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4, at the Church of Christ in Steele with Mr. John Mundy officiating.

Burial was at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele with Powell Funeral Home of Steele in charge of services.

Pallbearers were Billy Don Shuburte, Aaron Shuburte, Jeff Derrick, Kenny Derrick, Joe Don Stewart and Landon Stewart.
