Harold R. Robb, 82, of Burlington, died at 4:30 a.m., Friday, July 21, 2006, at his home.

Born Dec. 17, 1923, in Kirksville, Mo., he was the son of Alva R. and Ethel Floyd Robb. On August 28, 1947, he married Ramah Truitt in Kirksville, Mo.

He graduated from Novinger High School in 1941 and Kirksville State Teachers College in 1949. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran serving in the Asiatic–Pacific Theater during various campaigns including on Peleliu and Okinawa during World War II. He began his career in education as a teacher and a coach. He then moved into administration including Morning Sun High School, Horace Mann and James Madison Junior High and West Burlington Elementary. He was a member of Parkside First Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years. He enjoyed reading, writing, traveling, music and crossword puzzles. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a history enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife, Ramah; three daughters, Suzanne (Larry) Pullen of Fort Collins, Colo., Mary Jane (Alan) Castle of Broomfield, Colo. and Jackie (Jeff) Brooks of Kirkland, Wash.; seven grandchildren, Shelly Toth, Brandi Kopach, Matthew Castle, Andrew Castle, Shawna Brooks, Perry Brooks and Cameron Brooks; three great–grandchildren, Evan Toth, Jackson Kopach and Lexi Toth; one brother, Donald Robb of Virginia; one sister–in–law, Ruby Truitt Riley of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two nephews, Rusty Robb of Hawaii and Chris Jones of Kirksville, Missouri; and three nieces, Carolyn Berryhill of Conway, Arkansas, Margaret Schnug and Nancy Russell of Overland Park, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents,; one son, Perry; one sister, Dorothy Jones; one brother, Kenneth Robb; and one nephew, Denny Jones.

As per the request of Mr. Robb his body has been cremated. There will be no visitation.

The memorial service for Mr. Harold Robb will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Hass–Thielen Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tyrone C. Henderson officiating.

Inurnment will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Ringo Point Cemetery in Western Adair County, Missouri, with Virgil Jones officiating. Full Military Honors will be rendered by VFW Post 2508, American Legion, and D.A.V. Chapter 48.
