Maxine Marie (Jones) Golden, age 85, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014, in the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, MO.
She was born July 12, 1929, in the Pure Air community in Adair County, MO, the daughter of Ora Otto and Opal Luetta Carnagey Jones. She was united in marriage to Roy Roberts and two this union two children were born, Stephen Roberts and wife Norma of Olathe, Kansas and Janet Marie Roberts of Tuscon, AZ. Also surviving are four grandchildren, David Roberts and wife Bethany, Brian Roberts and wife Kerry, Justin Roberts and wife Heather, Astin Roberts, ten great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was united in marriage to George Golden on December 26, 1975 in Kirksville, MO and he preceded her in death on July 4, 2003. Maxine was also preceded in death by her father in 1952, her mother in 1967, two brothers Gerald in 2002 and Jewell Jones in 2008 and one sister Margie Sanford in 2012. Maxine received her education in Ringo Point School.
She had worked as a waitress and housekeeper. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Edina, MO. Maxine loved her church family. Her hobbies were sewing, art projects with paint, flower gardening and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Pastor John Bode will officiate the services. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens. Musical selections will be In The Garden and One Day At A Time.
Casket bearers will be Brian Roberts, David Roberts, Rick Sanford, Leon Blake, Russ Phillips and Steve Golden.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 5, 2014, from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m. in the Davis-Playle Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Edina, MO. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 East Shepherd Ave, Kirksville, MO 63501.
