Tom was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at an early age. He graduated from Washburn High School in Washburn, TN with the class of 1969. In 1971 he graduated from Tennessee Tech University with a degree in Animal Science.
Shortly after moving to Missouri, Tom met and married the love of his life, Beth Bunch. They were united in marriage on Dec. 16, 1977 at Pomona Christian Church by the Rev. Keith Cunningham and to this union two sons were born, Jason and Josh Ferguson.
Tom worked in agriculture his entire life in many different capacities. He was a long-time manager of MFA in Willow Springs where he enjoyed serving his customers as well as visiting with them over a cup of coffee. Tom enjoyed his job very much because he loved his customers.
Tom was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He loved spending time with his family n the farm and working alongside his sons and five grandsons. His love of coffee, peanut butter and pecan pie was legendary.
Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents; his parents and his father-in-law, Ralph Bunch. He is survived by his wife Beth of the family home; sons, Jason Ferguson and wife, Michelle and Josh Ferguson; grandsons, Brenden, Gavin, Dylan, Korbin and Austin Ferguson; brothers, James Ferguson and wife, Linda of Washburn, TN and Kyle Ferguson and wife, Donna of Washburn, TN; sisters, Cathy Johnson and husband, Dwight of Powder Springs, TN and Joyce Brown and husband, Bill of Erin, TN; several nieces and nephews, Rebecca Ferguson, Nick Ferguson, Laurel Johnson, Michael Brown, Jeffrey Brown, Stephen Brown, MaeLinda Ferguson, Brian Bunch and Chad Bunch; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, numerous good friends and neighbors.
Tom was simply a country boy; he was happiest on the farm. Because of this, his ashes will be spread on the farm he loved so much and his native State of Tennessee. He will be missed terribly by all those who knew and loved him.
