Mrs. Beryl Sanders passed away on May 6 at her home in Willow Springs, Missouri after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Sanders was born in Willow Springs, on January 2, 1927 to Homer V. And Myra Ferguson.
Mrs. Sanders graduated from Willow Springs High School in 1944. She married Doyle Sanders in 1946 and they owned and operated a dairy farm east of Willow Springs for several years. They later lived in Salem, Gainesville, and West Plains, Missouri before she returned to Willow Springs in 1983.
During her time in West Plains, she worked at the Wilke Drug Store. While at Willow Springs, she volunteered at Munch and the Willow Springs Historical and Genealogical Society. She belonged to the West Plains and Willow Springs Country Clubs, where she was an avid golfer. She loved playing in local golf tournaments with members of her family. She was also an excellent bridge player and accumulated many master points while playing in bridge tournaments.
Beryl was a loving mother to her four children and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Sanders; her father and mother, Homer and Myra Ferguson; her sister, Betty (Ferguson) Hayes; and her brother and his wife, Tom and Sadie Ruth Ferguson. Beryl is survived by her daughter, Diane Sanders of Willow Springs, and her three sons, Doyle Sanders Jr and his wife Libby of Salem, Missouri; Dee Sanders and his wife JoDean of Columbia, Missouri; and David Sanders of Overland Park, Kansas. She is further survived by two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
There will be a private graveside service for the family at the Willow Springs City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests remembrances be made in her name to the Willow Springs Historical and Genealogical Society. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home in Willow Springs.
