Mr. Ted Wayne Lewis, 72 years of Pineville, Missouri a longtime area farmer and cattleman, departed this life at 12:35 a.m. Sunday at the Mercy Medical Center in Rogers, Arkansas after a recent battle with cancer. Ted entered this life on June 2, 1937 in Jane, Missouri son of the late Orval and Blanch (Akehurst) Lewis. He was a 1955 graduate of the White Rock High School. From 1955 to 1963 he served his country faithfully in the United States Army serving in Germany. On September 30, 1960 in Germany he was united in marriage to GiGi Marie Schweizer and to this union one son was born. Besides farming, Ted also owned and operated the Bentonville Livestock Auction for over twenty-two years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Tommy E. Lewis; a granddaughter Megan Lewis; and three brothers, John Henry Lewis, Carl Lewis and Lonnie Mark Lewis.

Ted is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, GiGi Lewis of the home; three grandchildren, Jennifer Blevins and husband, Jessie, of Anderson, Missouri, Ashley Lewis of Pineville, Missouri and Thomas Carnes and wife, Barbara, of Pineville, Missouri; six great grandchildren, Jonathan, Jasen and Alexis Blevins and Bradon, Skylie and Landon Carnes; a daughter in-law, Lois Lewis of Pineville, Missouri; four sisters, Ruth Drake and husband, Todd, of Filer, Idaho, Anna McCool of Pineville, Missouri, Irene Coddington and husband, Bill, of Ft. Sumner, New Mexico and Carla Drew and husband, Bob, of Hiwasse, Arkansas; two brothers, Ray Lewis and wife, Neirene, of Pineville, Missouri and Frankie Lewis and wife, DeeDee, of Pineville, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Lewis are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Hank Gorman officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Jane Cemetery. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are James Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Trenton McCool, Doyle Robertson, Grant Merriman, Jamie Harmon, Clay Robertson and Jessie Blevins. Gisela “GiGi” Marie Lewis, 79 years of Pineville, Missouri, departed this life at 3:25 a.m. on Thursday at Oak Pointe in Neosho, Missouri.

GiGi entered this life on July 29, 1941 in Moglingen, Germany, daughter of the late Bernhard and Marie (Stahl) Schweizer. On September 30, 1960 in Germany, she was united in marriage to Ted Wayne Lewis and to this union one son was born. Gigi worked for 40 years at Cooper Communities in Bella Vista, Arkansas; also together with her husband she farmed and owned and operated the Bentonville Livestock Auction for over twenty-two years. She had only one biological son but so many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that might not have been hers by blood but she loved them all just the same. She would sacrifice before she would watch someone go without. She was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. She enjoyed sewing, collecting and polka dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 48 years, Ted Lewis; son, Tommy E. Lewis; a granddaughter Megan Lewis; siblings, Hilda Enssle, Elfriede König and Werner Schweizer.

GiGi is survived by two granddaughters, Jennifer Blevins of Overland Park, Kansas, Ashlie Means of Hoffman, Oklahoma; five great grandchildren, Jon, Jasen and Alexis Blevins and Addicus and Amorah Means; a daughter in-law, Lois Lewis of Pineville, Missouri; a sister, Brigitte; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for GiGi Lewis will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 in the Anderson Chapel of the Ozark Funeral Homes with Bro. Hank Gorman officiating. Burial will follow in the Jane Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Anderson chapel of the Ozark Funeral Home.
