Connie Kay (Main) Buckley 79, of Anderson, MO passed away January 17th, 2020 at McDonald County Living Center after a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on September 15th, 1940 at the family home on Bear Hollow Road in Jane, Mo to parents Orville and Ruth (Evans) Main. After attending elementary school at White Rock in Jane, MO the family moved to western Kansas and she graduated from Satanta High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to her High School sweetheart Vernon Grant Pepper in the summer of 1958. They had three children Robert (Mack), Pamela and Kimberly.

Connie had a passion for serving people early in life, she attended nursing school and graduated as an LPN. She worked in the nursing field for several years in Kansas, Oklahoma and Nebraska. Life brought her back to home in the late 70’s and in the early 80’s she went work at Walmart Home Office as a buyer’s assistant for the home goods department. She always had great stories about her career and working with Sam Walton. After Walmart, she worked for the McDonald County Courthouse and Health Department for several years. She spent her later years managing Shrimpman’s Inn from it’s beginning to end. Throughout the years at Shrimpman’s she was a mentor, friend, mother and grandmother to many people that passed through the restaurant. Before her final retirement she finished her working years as the Administrator of Concordia ARMS in Bella Vista, Ar. She served so many people over the years as friends, family, customers and patients. If you had the chance to work with or know Miss Connie, your life was blessed that much more. Connie never met a stranger, she would listen to anyone that needed her and give advice to those that asked.

Connie was best known for her sense of style, baking pies, making homemade chocolate pudding for her grandkids and being able to make any room look like a page out of a Better Homes and Gardens magazine. She enjoyed spending time with people, flea marketing, eating popcorn and watching movies, reading gossip magazines and dancing to any song that had a toe tappin’ beat.

She was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Ruth (Evans) Main, her son Mack, and husband Larry Buckley.

She is survived by her Baby Sister Bonnie and husband Cecil Barnett of Liberty, MO. Two loved daughters, Pam and husband Curtis Kruse of Anderson, MO, Kim and husband Larry Powell of Fayetteville, AR. Six Adored Grandchildren Bobby Gutherless, Cody Griffin and wife Tiffany, La’cee Lane and fiancé Justin Puckett, Josh Brown, Samantha Huddleston and husband Drew and Blake Powell and wife Mercedes. Nine cherished Great-Grandchildren, Parker, Elijah, Brighton, Lexi, Josie, Luke, Lily, Amelie and Grant.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at McDonald County Living Center and Avalon Hospice for the excellent care of Connie, you will forever have our gratitude for all you have done for her and us.
