Wilma Imogene Carder, 81 of Cabool and formerly of Mtn. Grove passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 2, 1941 near Graff, MO the daughter of Jesse V. and Nora F. (Williamson) Coble.
Imogene's younger years were spent running the banks of Beaver Creek, creating many stories that she loved to share with her grandkids. She attended the Ellis School and graduated from Mtn. Grove High School with the class of 1959.
Imogene was united in marriage to Earl Carder on July 26, 1958 and to this union one son, James Edward was born in 1975. They lived in Mtn. Grove most of the time except for a short time while Earl was stationed in Texas with the Army and moved to Caruthersville, MO when Earl was transferred there with Brown Shoe Factory. While living there she worked at the Sears Store. They moved back to Mtn. Grove shortly after Jim Ed was born. She started working at the High School cafeteria in 1980, where she became the "Salad Bar Lady"; she remained there until the middle school was built and then went to work as the middle school custodian until her retirement.
Imogene was a very hard worker, almost to a fault, cleaning and scrubbing anything and everything. She loved tending to her flowers, taking care of her family and cooking for everyone; every Sunday was like Thanksgiving. Very seldom would you see her without Earl not far behind or ahead, anything that was done, they done it together.
Imogene was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Nora Coble; her brother, Donald Coble; brother-in-law, Lester Cole and sister-in-law, Wilma Ellis. She is survived by her husband, Earl of the home; her son, Jim Ed Carder and wife, Melanie of Cabool; her granddaughter, Madison Bay and husband, Taylor of Clever, MO; her grandson, Dalton Carder and wife, Sierra of Cabool; her sister, Glenna Cole of Jefferson City; nephew, Randy Cole and wife, Julie of Jefferson City; nieces, Glenna Faye Vestal and husband, Jess of Mtn. Grove and Rhonda Sickels and husband DeWayne of Jefferson City; as well as many other family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. [egcfuneralhome.com]
