DEATH OF BEN R. ELLIOTT
A Well Known Carthage Man Passed Away This Morning

Ben R. Elliott, a highly esteemed citizen of Carthage, died this morning at 3:20 o'clock at his home on the corner of Clinton and Second streets. A wife and five children survive him. The children are Robert, Nellie, Orlena, Harry and Frederick, all of the home. His brother John C. lives six miles northeast of town, and a sister, Mrs. R. H. Paar, resides on West Central avenue.
Mr. Elliott was aged 51 years, and came to Jasper county eleven years ago from Newark, Ohio. He bought a 160 acre farm six miles northeast of Carthage and settled on it. Part of the time for four or five years he has lived in Carthage, giving his children the school advantages of this city.

His last illness was pronounced effusion of the brain and he had not been conscious since Wednesday morning, at which time he was found unconscious in bed when it was attempted to rouse him for breakfast.
Previous to that time, although not feeling well for several days, he had not considered himself a sick man.
Mr. Elliott was a member of the Fraternal Aid Society and the Ancient Order of Pyramids. Many friends extend the bereaved family their heartfelt sympathy.
the funeral will be held at the family residence Monday morning at 10 o'clock and the interment will be at Park Cemetery.
