Yvonne Louise Sloan, 81, of Shell Knob, died September 17 at Skaggs Community Health Center in Branson. Mrs. Sloan was born July 9, 1920, in Dixon, the daughter of James Franklin and Alma Bailey Shelton.

She was a graduate of Dixon High School and lived most of her life in Wichita, Kansas, moving to Shell Knob in 1976. She was past president of the Wichita Area Builders Association and a member of the West Side Christian Church in Wichita. She was a member of Central Community Methodist Church in Shell Knob and Society of Lively Oldsters Club.

She married Homer W. Sloan on July 6, 1940, in Waynesville, and he preceded her in death February 13, 1987.

Survivors include one son, Ronald Sloan of Wichita, Kansas; two daughters, Carolyn Coonrod of Shell Knob and Christy Martin of Ozark; two sisters, Lorene Gaylord of St. Peters and Caroline Alexander of Dixon; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Services were 10:30 a.m. today, September 19, at Central Community United Methodist Church in Shell Knob with Rev. David Collum officiating. Burial was in McGuire Cemetery in Viola under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home of Shell Knob. Memorials may be made to the scholarship fund of the church.
