Obituary:
Zella Davis, 89, formerly of 349 S. Wood, died at 11:52 a.m. Friday, February 12, 1988, at the Regency Care Center in Carthage, following a long illness.
Mrs. Davis was born September 2, 1898, in Newton County and was a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the Neosho United Methodist Church,the American Legion Auxiliary, Order of Eastern Star and the White Shrine.
She had been active in various civic affairs and was an avid bowler. She helped establish the women's bowling league in 1938 and had bowled for many years with the Ladies Tuesday Night Bowling League.
Louis B. Davis and Zella Kenney were married August 17, 1919 in Newton County, Missouri. He preceded her in death March 20, 1953.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry B. Davis, Neosho, and Charles Davis, Joplin, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
